Positive Thoughts for Success

By Rhonda Campbell
Positive thoughts are the seeds of a great tomorrow. Think about it.

The other day while watching a program on ESPN, I saw a man who couldn’t speak due to an illness. He used technology to produce words on a screen. The screen resembled a computer monitor. A dot on the man’s head made it possible for the man to transfer his thoughts onto the screen. It appeared as if the man was typing words on the screen using thought alone. I immediately thought of the movie, The Matrix, wondering if humanity’s heading in that direction.

Accessing the Power of Positive Thoughts

Seeing what happened during the program showed me even more how much power there is in thought alone. Of course, technology worked in conjunction with the man’s thoughts to create words on the screen. However, it was an innovative step forward. I’d never seen anything like it. The show was a true eye opener.

Similar to how the man produced words on the screen using technology and thought alone, our thoughts, whether they are negative, positive thoughts or inspirational thoughts — what we think about all day — has an impact (direct and indirect) on our lives. Positive thoughts and inspirational thoughts not only help create our experiences, they also help to lift our moods or emotions. As entrepreneurs, we need to use empowering thoughts to stay motivated to do what it takes to help cause our businesses to succeed.

Because experiences in this world can tempt us to put our energy into negative thoughts, it’s worth it to incorporate some actions into our daily routine. These actions can become habits, helping to focus our thoughts in empowering ways. To get in the habit of thinking positive thoughts, we can:

  • Journal about emotions and experiences we have that tempt us to use our energy to focus on negativity
  • Count our blessings, things we appreciate
  • Spend time with people who we love being with
  • Read books that describe and give examples of the power of positive thoughts and inspirational thoughts
  • Listen to tapes filled with positive thoughts and inspirational thoughts
  • Speak positive thoughts out loud throughout the day

It’s also important to take inspired action. In other words, when ideas surface, guiding or suggesting that we take specific actions, we would do well to consider doing so. After all, we might not get a second chance to act on the inspiration. If we’re not at home or at our office when we receive inspired ideas, we can write the ideas down on a note pad, the back of an envelope, anything we can find. It’s also important that we act on one or more of the inspired ideas after we get home or back to our office.
